Document Buddy

Document Buddy is the document-authoring assistant: an agent session in which you and an agent edit one A4 document together. Everything the agent changes arrives as a tracked change that you accept or reject, so the document stays yours. It ships as the document-buddy platform biome. The document itself is a page in the knowledge base, and exporting to PDF or DOCX is an on-demand step in the render API.

Two document kinds

KindWorkspace compositionHow you work
Markdowndocument-md-defaultYou and the agent co-edit one Markdown file, /workspace/document/<slug>.md. The agent's edits appear as tracked changes, one hunk at a time, with calm-tint highlighting. You accept or reject each inline.
Richdocument-rich-defaultThe agent writes one A4 HTML file, /workspace/document/<slug>.html. You review its edits as tracked changes and steer it with comments anchored to text in the rendered preview.

Both kinds edit one working file directly, and the platform derives the reviewable tracked changes from the agent's edits. The agent works with file tools rather than Xema capabilities.

Templates and design systems

A new rich document starts from a template. The biome ships:

TemplateWhat it is
ReportMulti-page report with a cover, table of contents, executive summary and themed sections.
Sales proposalEditorial proposal with a bold cover, executive summary, scope and pricing.
Formal letterBusiness letter with letterhead, salutation, body and sign-off.
DL envelopeSingle-page DL landscape envelope with return address and recipient.
Static presentationLandscape A4 slides, rendered as paginated pages.
Animated presentationA slide deck with fragments, speaker notes and a fullscreen mode.

It also ships four design systems that give those documents their look: document-default, document-deck, document-letter and document-newsroom. A template and a design system are chosen together; see the Design System Builder for how design systems are authored.

Presenter Coach

The animated presentation template binds an extra agent, the Presenter Coach, to the session. In rehearsal mode it reviews pacing, slide density, use of fragments and signposting, and suggests targeted edits without rewriting the deck.

Skills

Three skills guide the agent: a shared authoring protocol for every session (single working file, edit discipline, page-break rules and fail-loud guardrails), one for Markdown and one for rich HTML. The session can call the explorer and web-explorer subagents from the platform roster.
